Freeda's Kala is a dairy free, yeast free, and soy free source of acidophilus which is used to help restore the normal intestinal flora (good bacteria). As it is generally believed that antibiotics destroy the good intestinal flora (bacteria) as well as the bad, many nutritionists recommend taking acidophilus. Many people also use this product to coat the stomach which may improve digestive regularity and decrease gas.* Each tablet of Kala contains 200 million units of active lactobacilli at the time of manufacture. When taking antibiotics, it is recommended to take Freeda's acidophilus either 1 hour before or 2 hours after taking the antibiotics.
